As a community, we’re facing multiple crises. An epidemic of loneliness and separation, economic and financial shocks (inc unemployment), health crises, the fallout from the pandemic and the unfolding climate and ecological emergency. We choose to face these crises together.
iFarm is growing community resilience in the face of these crises, by way of mutual aid.
Resilience includes spaces to gather, to socialise, to grow food and the provision of associated services for wellbeing, physical and mental health. This includes delivering education and practical action on the Climate & Ecological Emergency through local Community Climate Action planning; water management, energy use reduction and renewable energy generation.
Through our community we transform loneliness into belonging and meaning, economic inequality into cooperative economy, climate crisis into sustainable ecological design.
Loneliness isn’t just an absence of people, but an absence of purpose.
We’ve purchased 10 acres of land and have taken on our local pub The White Horse, a place for the community to gather again, tell stories, play music, plan and share time together, over a pint (or maybe a cup of tea)… but we’re #MoreThanAPub
Our land is accessible for community supported agriculture and other outdoor activities. This delivers demonstrable improvements to physical and mental health; space to gather and to learn about conservation and ecology.
We operate our local pub, The White Horse, enabling our community to keep it open, continuing to provide a meeting place for; clubs, sports and games, music, dancing, celebrations – a hub for the village to meet and enjoy a drink or food together. Revenue from the pub will be reinvested in the pub and its services and any surplus distributed to fund our social purpose.
